Children’s Literacy Programs
Reading to your child before kindergarten is the best way to prepare them to learn to read. 1,000 books before kindergarten is a surprisingly achievable goal. Those who complete the program will receive a free book and a certificate of completion. There are multiple ways to track your books:
- Beanstack – Beanstack is an easy way to track the books you read either through the Beanstack website or the Beanstack App. The library uses Beanstack to offer many different reading challenge programs, so you can log everything in one place.
- 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten App – The 1000 Foundation also offers an app to track your books.
- Paper logs – Pick up a log sheet at the library.
Beanstack has reading challenges for all ages throughout the year. Completing a challenge earns you a collectible button and a treat! Families can complete reading challenges together since everyone can participate.
