The Friends of the Collegedale Public Library present Cath Shaw Truelove for the Local Author Series Sunday, May 21 at 2:00.
Until July 4, 2022, Cath owned Bees on a Bicycle, a garden center and gift shop located on Market Street in the heart of Chattanooga’s vibrant Southside community. Ms. Truelove, who has farming roots from both sides of her family, formerly owned a DC-based landscaping business called Garden of Urban. As part of her work, she developed an inner-city science and math program introducing over 400 youth to gardening. She was certified as a Master Gardener years ago and is known for her gardens featuring both native and exotic plants.
Cath is a recognized speaker and writer who built a viable communications agency from the ground up, employing 54 people over 12 years with clients ranging from the U.S. Senate to CareerBuilder.com. Previous to that, she coordinated nationwide efforts to recruit, train, schedule and acknowledge 700 volunteers for the AIDS Memorial Quilt. In another speaking tour, she led efforts nationwide within the interior design industry to increase capacity by 1,000 new beds in homeless shelters.
Cath lives in the Northshore of Chattanooga with her husband, Graham, and their dog, Fred.
