Local Author Talk Features Multigenerational Novel by Kristen Terrette

August 21, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On August 21 at 2 p.m., author Kristen Terrette will be at Collegedale City Hall to share some highlights from her new young adult novel, See You Monday. Readers of all ages will enjoy this multigenerational story set in Chattanooga, which was inspired by real-life persons and events in her own family.

In See You Monday, a popular teenager realizes that she has more influence among her friends and classmates than she ever imagined. A school projects that sends Grace Warner digging into family history gradually opens her eyes to social dynamics she never noticed before. Suddenly she faces a decision that will have life-or-death consequences in her school.

Terrette masterfully weaves together stories of different generations to show how events in “the revolution” that began in the summer of 1963 are still influencing the choices teenagers make today. See You Monday received a Moonbeam silver medal for young adult fiction.

With the support of her husband and two children, Terrette writes from their home near Atlanta. In the last eight years, she has published three contemporary romance novels. Since See You Monday was released in 2021, Terrette has written two other young adult (YA) novels that are ready for submission and is beginning a new YA project.

This free one-hour presentation will be held in the City of Collegedale’s West Room, which is adjacent to the library and offers ample space for physical distancing. Enjoy light refreshments, and stay afterward to purchase books signed by the author. For more information, call 423-396-9300.
